We were pleased to be recently commissioned by Lisa Ashton at EquiSci, (Equitation Science Consultant), to design and build a brand new website for her company.

Equitation Science emerged as a field in 2006, combining learning theory, psychology, biomechanics and ethology to examine the salience and efficacy of horse training methods. It is the knowledge and application of:

  • The latest technology to scientifically measure our understanding of the impact training and performance has on horses.
  • How learning theory and ethology are embedded into training methodologies to enhance practice.
  • Techniques/methods used in training, riding and managing horses to facilitate the advancement of horsemanship and improvement of equine welfare.

Lisa is a fully qualified Equitation Science International Trainer, accredited by Dr Andrew McLean from the Australian Equine Behaviour Centre and is based in Staffordshire servicing a wide range of equine clients throughout the UK including: Professional Riders, Coaches, Horse Owners, the British Horse Society, Universities & Colleges as well as Riding Clubs delivering a host of national and international clinics and workshops.

The brief for the new website was to lift the brand awareness of her business and its subject matter whilst providing Lisa with an easy to administer Content Managed Site that she can update on the move. The site was created incorporating RWD (Responsive Website Design) an approach aimed to provide an optimal viewing experience—easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling—across a wide range of devices from mobile phones and tablets through to desktop computer monitors.

EquiSci’s website also incorporates a News area that was important for Lisa who likes to keep her audience up to date with latest industry happenings as well as an Events Calendar detailing courses she is holding or attending. Lisa is hoping to expand the site further in the near future with additional facilities for her clients.
